Dominika + Daniel | Le Treport Wedding Mississauga

When two different cultures (Polish + Italian) unite, we get a plethora of events and traditions that are such a joy to photograph. We started the day with Dominika and her family along with her cute nieces who were helpful little bees and couldn’t wait to see their auntie get into her ‘princess dress’.

The gentlemen had lots of fun playing pool, having a celebratory drink and a quick drive-by on his motorcycle. No shortage of laughs here and it was hard to hold back behind the camera hearing all of their inside jokes.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful in the stained glass church of St. Eugene De Mazenod. Fall is the Dominika + Daniel’s favourite season so I tried to incorporate the fall foliage as often as I could on the grounds of Adamson Estates in Mississauga. Her bouquet was so unique and nothing that I’ve ever seen before and complemented the season perfectly.

The festivities continued at the elegant Le Treport Wedding Convention Centre where we were all entertained by a live band – Impuls. At the wedding reception the bride and groom were met by both sets of parents. The bread is given in hopes that the bride and groom will never go hungry or be in need. The salt conveys that time may be difficult but they must learn to cope with the struggles in their life and marriage. Following the bread and salt, the couple traditionally has their first toast. Customarily, the father of the bride or groom presents the couple with two glasses – one of vodka, one of water. They are offered first to the bride, who must make her selection without knowing which is which. Tradition says that whoever ends up with the glass of vodka will be the dominant partner in the relationship. After their drink (and the portent of their future dynamic), the couple throw their glasses; if they break, it’s a sign of good luck. The dancing continued late into the night without a break on the dance floor. I thoroughly loved being part of their big day and wish Dominika + Daniel all the best. Can’t wait for our next shoot! Congrats!

What a way to wrap up the year! These two tied the knot at the stunning Tapestry Hall, and it was nothing short of magical. The rustic charm and modern vibes of Cambridge’s hip streets, paired with those incredible light fixtures, created the perfect backdrop for their love story. 💛

This day was filled with endless laughter, happy tears, and unforgettable moments with the sweetest people. Bittersweet to say goodbye to wedding season, but what a beautiful note to end on. 🥂
